Citi raises £26,344 for Young Carers in NI

Staff at financial services company, Citi, raised an impressive £26,344 last year for their charity partner, Barnardo’s Northern Ireland.

The funds which were raised through a number of fundraising activities including dress down days, a gala ball, marathons, a pub quiz, raffles and cake sales will go towards Barnardo’s local Young Carer service.

Lauren Geddis, Senior Legal Counsel and CSR Chairperson, at Citi said: “2013 was a record breaking year for fundraising within Citi Belfast.  I hope that our donation has made a positive impact in the lives of those children who presented their stories to us so courageously.  Citi Belfast would like to wish Barnardo’s the very best of good luck in future endeavours and thank them for the opportunity to support such a worthwhile cause.”

Leona McEvoy, business development manager, at Barnardo’s NI said: “Staff at Citi really got behind the partnership. They give it their full support and got involved in a variety of ways to raise funds. We are so grateful to them for their sterling efforts and overwhelming generosity. Every penny raised will help Barnardo’s continue to support young carers in Northern Ireland and offer them the chance to escape their worries and to just simply be a child."
