Cheerleaders from the UK Cheerleading Association (UKCA) in Belfast and Newtownabbey delighted shoppers in Cornmarket on Saturday when they staged a flashmob to rally support for Cancer Focus Northern Ireland - the official charity for the Deep RiverRock Belfast City Marathon on May 6.
The cheerleaders chant called on everyone to sign up for the marathon relay, fun run or walk - and go the extra mile to raise funds for Cancer Focus (the new name for the Ulster Cancer Foundation).
UKCA has joined forces with Cancer Focus Northern Ireland this year to promote healthy lifestyles for children and adults and raise awareness of cancer prevention. They will be adding to the festive atmosphere of this year’s marathon by providing cheer stations around the race circuit.
They have also recently given out information at the UKCA NI Cheerleading Championships in the Antrim Forum and at the Podium for Sport Fashion Show.
To register for a marathon event go to www.belfastmarathon.com or for more information email belfastmarathon@cancerfocusni.org
All the money you raise will stay in Northern Ireland and help local cancer patients and their families, www.cancerfocusni.org.
