The Centre for Ageing Research and Development in Ireland (CARDI) is pleased to announce a new small grants programme to promote active and healthy ageing.

The Centre for Ageing Research and Development in Ireland (CARDI) is pleased to announce a new small grants programme to promote active and healthy ageing. It is offering up to €100,000 for research projects involving the use of existing data sources in Ireland, North and South.

CARDI’s Director, Dr Roger O’Sullivan said “CARDI is delighted to be launching this new grants call. It is the second call to focus on the use of existing data sources relevant to ageing research. This call aims to attract researchers interested in the area of healthy and active ageing with a view to improving the lives of older people across the island of Ireland.”

CARDI will award up to €100,000 in total to fund research projects with an all-Ireland focus. Applications for individual grants range from €5,000 to a maximum of €20,000 available for a single project. This programme will support researchers to extract, collate and analyse data from an all Ireland perspective and summarise it into information relevant for policy or practice.

Applications are invited from individuals or groups from academic, non-profit and voluntary and community sectors.

Applications are now open for CARDI’s Data Mining Grant Programme and the deadline for entries is 12.00 hours (noon) on Monday 4 February 2013.
