Cancer Focus's Little Stars Appeal to help families

By buying a Little Stars badge, you can help Cancer Focus help local children when a mum, dad or grandparent has cancer.

Deborah McWhirter, Direct Marketing Manager for Cancer Focus, said: “The children and young people we work with are amazing, and your donations will help us reach out to more families that need help.

“Cancer Focus supports families with one-to-one home visits and family support groups. We encourage children to express feelings such as anger, anxiety and fear, and help them understand cancer.

“If a parent’s prognosis is less positive, we help them to write thoughts and stories for the future, and to create lasting memories. If the adult sadly dies, we help children to create memory boxes and offer family bereavement groups,” she said.

“These children are our Little Stars. Sadly, we’re not able to reach every family that needs us, so please make a donation by buying a little star badge and support us in any way you can.”
