Cancer Focus NW Prostate Cancer Support Group
Cancer Focus Northern Ireland is holding its next prostate cancer support group meeting in the north west on Wednesday 25th September at 7.30pm in the Agnes Jones House, Altnagelvin Hospital.
The meeting will be facilitated by Cancer Focus Counsellor Theresa McSwiney and Oncology/Urology Nurse Specialist Kerry Chambers.
Deirdre Conlon, Care Services Manager, Cancer Focus, said: “The prostate cancer support group aims to help patients develop a holistic approach to living with cancer and is complementary to any ongoing medical treatment.
“The support group is open to anyone who has been diagnosed with prostate cancer, as well as carers, family and friends and we extend a very warm welcome to all new members. There is no commitment to attend each session and everyone is welcome to come as often and for as long as they wish.
“The support group meetings areinformal and there is no pressure to speak about your experiences - you can just come along and listen to what is being said. Patients in the past have gained a lot from talking to people who are in, or have been in, a similar situation as this can help to reduce feelings of anxiety, fear and isolation and improve quality of life.”
Light refreshments will be available. For further information or to confirm your attendance please contact Eileen Creeryat Cancer Focus on 028 9068 0742 or email eileencreery@cancerfocusni.org.
