Big Build 2012

Will you build BIG in Romania this year? During one week in October you could help 10 families in desperate need of safe, decent shelter build their way out of poverty. No skills are needed just a big heart and the determination to help transform lives!

What is Big Build?

Building 10 homes at Big Build 2012 will launch a 3 year programme helping families in the community of Balta Sarata, Romania. Big Build is about building louder; drawing attention to the right of every person to have a decent place to live.

2012 is the fourth year running that volunteers from across Northern Ireland have travelled to build big in Romania. The October build will see the first hammer come down on a Roma integration project that will deliver 50 homes over the next 3 years.

Working in partnership with other organisations Habitat for Humanity Romania will also deliver the holistic support families need to transform their future. By increasing educational and livlihood support and helping families get the social support they need the programme will deliver real impacts for the future.

Get Involved

To take part in Big Build 2012 you will need to commit to raise £1850 per person (including £100 non-refundable deposit). This covers travel from Northern Ireland, in-country expenses and a donation to Habitat’s work. The trip takes place between 29th September to 6th October.
