A BBC Radio Ulster Broadcast Appeal on behalf of MACS Supporting Children and Young People
MACS Supporting Children and Young People, was established 25 years ago to help meet the needs of young people who were making the transition from care to independent living.
Whilst the charity still provides supported housing, its services have expanded to include young people who are homeless or who have mental health and other issues. MACS aims to help these young people fulfil their potential through a range of projects and initiatives.
Volunteers play an important role in the charity's work. They help the young people in dealing with life’s everyday challenges such as managing money, meeting new people and joining social groups. They also help develop their confidence and self-esteem.
