BBC Northern Ireland - Broadcast Appeals Briefing Session

Applications are now being invited for Broadcast Appeal slots that will become available from November 2018 onwards.

Briefing Session: Thursday 21 June 2018    10.30am – 12.00pm

BBC Blackstaff House, 62-66 Great Victoria Street, Belfast, BT2 7BZ

Broadcast Appeals on BBC television and radio in Northern Ireland provide an important opportunity for local charities to promote their work. Appeals can be used to increase awareness of services or to seek volunteers and/or donations. These short programmes are produced with technical and editorial support from the BBC. They reach a large and diverse audience and have been part of the BBC’s work in Northern Ireland for over 90 years.

Organisations wishing to apply for a Broadcast Appeal should generally operate on a region-wide basis. Appeals for international projects will also be considered.

Our Briefing Session will describe the application process for Broadcast Appeals and provide some useful advice on what makes a successful Appeal, making use of recent examples from BBCNI television and radio. It will also look at key assessment criteria and evaluation requirements for these broadcast opportunities.
