Arts & Business NI's Creating Futures programme for 2012/13 - It's Graduation Day!

Arts & Business NI celebrate graduation of Creating Futures participants 2012/13. This strategic development initiative for the cultural sector is supported by ACNI and delivered in partnership with the Ulster Business School at the University of Ulster.

In the impressive setting of Invest NI boardroom, Belfast, ten participants from Arts & Business NI Creative Future programme presented their vision for the future of their Arts Organisations to representatives from the arts sector including Nick Livingstone, Arts Council of Northern Ireland; Mary Trainor Nagele, Arts & Business NI and Janice Maskell, University of Ulster.

Creating Futures is a postgraduate course designed for senior managers in a leadership role in Arts Organisations, delivered by the Ulster Business School at the University of Ulster, initiated by Arts & Business NI and supported by the Arts Council NI

Creating Futures participants attended three formal University modules, a UK Learning Experience to both Liverpool & Edinburgh, a governance masterclass, business planning masterclasses, peer-to-peer support through Action Learning Sets, with mentor support to develop a business plan and fundraising strategy by June 2013.

Graduates will receive a Postgraduate Certificate in Executive Leadership (one third of a MSc )

Arts & Business NI wish to extent their congratulations to the participants for their inspiring and innovative delivery of long term strategies for the growth of the participating Arts Organisations.

Mary Trainer Nagele, Chief Executive of Arts & Business NI described the Creating Futures Programme as “Unlocking a personal journey to have an impact on your own organisation: - this unique programme aims to support arts managers and fundraisers to plan their own routes to Creating, Leading, and Fundraising for the Future.”
