Antrim Home is Clanmil 3000!!!

Clanmil Housing Association has just handed over a further 37 family houses to new tenants at Springfarm in Antrim, bringing to over 3000 the number of homes currently provided by Clanmil throughout Northern Ireland.

The homes at Springfarm were once home to military families and are part of a major refurbishment and new build project by Clanmil Housing which has provided a total of 53 houses at Mull Road and Islay Street for letting to families off the waiting list.

The first 10 of 45 houses which have been refurbished to modern standards were handed over to tenants in March this year while the remaining 35 homes, along with eight new build properties, are currently being allocated.

Clare McCarty, Chief Executive of Clanmil Housing, was delighted to hand the keys for Clanmil’s 3000th property over to the Wharry family.

She said;

“We are delighted to have been able to bring these once vacant houses back to life as much needed, high quality, affordable family homes and to help meet housing need in this area.  The fact that they boost our property portfolio to over 3000 homes is a proud achievement for Clanmil that demonstrates our commitment to growth and our continuing success in identifying and meeting social housing need.”

Maggie Wharry who has just moved into a refurbished home at Springfarm with her husband and three children (Callum and Ryan are pictured above) , says that it’s perfect for her family.  She said;

“I was so pleased to be offered one of these lovely houses by Clanmil.  It’s really bright and comfortable and in a great place.  We may have only just moved in but it already feels like home and a great place to raise the kids.”
