Cruse Bereavement Support is the UK’s leading Bereavement charity. We support people through one of the most painful times of their lives, the death of someone close. This is an opportunity to join the Somewhere For Us children and young people's team.

This is a great opportunity to join Cruse and support children and young people who are bereaved. You will help further develop and deliver our work with children and young people across NI. You will work as part of a team to ensure that children, young people, families and communities are supported through bereavement and loss, one of the most difficult times in their life.

We are seeking two experienced and enthusiastic Youth Engagement workers, to join our Somewhere For Us project team, one based in Belfast and one based in Derry/Londonderry. The role of the service is to ensure that children and young people feel supported on their grief journey.  The service is co-designed with our Youth Advisory Group.  The support is provided through a range of group and 1-1 supports, including Understanding Your Child’s Bereavement online sessions for parents, group support and activities for children and young people including Grief Ally and Bereavement Buddy.

Workshops are delivered in the community to individuals and groups who work with children and young people, to help increase their skills and knowledge on how to effectively support children and young people going through a bereavement.

The Somewhere For Us Service supports bereaved children and young people aged 8 – 25.  It is funded to June 2027, through the National Lottery Community Fund Empowering Young People funding stream.
