Youth Development Manager
Hope 4 Life NI

Hope 4 Life NI have a highly experienced and qualified team, all of whom have many years of involvement within the charitable sector, across a breadth of educational, practice and competency led settings. This ensures that our teams provide knowledge, guidance and experience across all of the varied programmes we provide to our Beneficiary groups. We are able to use a variety of techniques, problem solving skills and resilience building tools – all of which are so important when addressing mental ill-health.
Our Uberheroes® programmes deliver Prevention & Early Intervention mental health support for Children and Young People, this was created locally by young people for young people to train, develop and reduce the increasing levels of poor mental health within Primary and Secondary school children across the province. These programmes use the creativity and innovation of our superhero style comics, which retell the real experiences of local young people’s journey through mental illness to recovery. By using Uberheroes, who represent positive characteristics for mental wellbeing such as Hope, Truth, Resilience, Intelligence and Strength verses the Villains, who represent all the negative mental health issues such as anxiety, stress, depression, self-harm, suicidal thoughts, fear, grief, addictions etc. These characters have created a new narrative in our children and young people as ways to describe how they are feeling and what issues they are facing, making it easier to openly discuss difficult emotions and circumstances happening in their lives.
Through our innovative and practical programmes, we enable adults to become emotionally stronger, to take ownership and personal responsibility to become more self-sufficient and self-aware.
The training helps workplace engagement and enhances emotional resilience within the workplace, an organisational benefit is that our training provides a constructive platform to help minimise staff absenteeism and presenteeism prior to these becoming or continuing as an issue, helping to change the narrative and underpin employee value.
Our mission at Hope 4 Life NI is to serve our community with integrity and excellence, to help those in need by providing practical tools and techniques to cope with life’s challenges; to engage, equip and empower individuals with the tools to protect their mental health and wellbeing and stay mentally well.
