Youth Counsellor - term time

Hours: 20 - 30 per week

Salary: £28,521-£30,289 pro rata, per annum

Location: Belfast, Lisburn or Antrim (to be agreed on appointment)

Hours and work pattern to be agreed on appointment within service hours (Mon-Thurs 08:30-16:30 and Fri 08:30-15:15). 

This is a 39 week term-time contract.

Role:

The post holder will be a member of the Action Mental Health post primary schools counselling team, providing safe and confidential talking therapy to young people seeking therapeutic support.

You will have (essential):

• Diploma, Degree or Masters, or equivalent counselling or psychotherapy qualification as regulated by the RQF or SCQF and from a recognised or a relevant validating organisation eg Counselling and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body (CPCAB).
• Accredited member with BACP, IACP, NCPS or equivalent, or committed to achieve within 12 months.
• A minimum of 100 hours post qualification, clinically supervised practice in counselling children and young people up to age of 18 OR A minimum of 100 hours post qualification experience of working with adults and have successfully completed the Level 5 CPCAP Diploma in Counselling Children and Young People.
• Experience of working clinically within statutory and/or voluntary agencies
• A full current driving licence and access to a car is essential. Consideration will be given to alternative travelling proposals in respect of applicants with a disability who cannot hold a licence.
