Community Advice Ards and North Down is one of the leading independent advice providers in Northern Ireland. A progressive and evolving organisation, we have four offices based throughout the Ards and North Down area, in addition to 10 outreach advice clinics. We have 30 paid staff and over 20 volunteers. CAAND provides advice, help and support on a wide variety of issues, including benefits advice, consumer, employment and housing issues. We have specialist teams dealing with debt issues and appeal tribunal representation(both Social security and Employment)

Community Advice Ards & North Down are currently recruiting for a part- time, Welfare Reform Adviser to provide a high-quality advice and support service to clients. This job is a maternity cover post until 31 March 2025.

  • To provide high quality advice and support to clients in all areas of Welfare Reform and Welfare Reform mitigations.

 

  • To assist clients with applications for all benefits introduced under Welfare Reform, including digitally where possible.

 

  • To provide advice and assistance to clients on sanctions.

 

  • To provide information to clients on available help with employability where appropriate.

 

  • To assist clients to improve their financial capability, including referral to expert debt and money advice help within CAAND.

 

  • To provide support to clients to improve their digital capability.

 

  • To work with partners to ensure clients receive help and support to resolve their problems.

 

  • To contribute to the delivery of the Welfare Reform Support project, commensurate with the role of Welfare Reform Adviser.
