What will I be doing?
- You will make 'Keeping in Touch' calls to people. These calls follow up with people in their dementia journey (approx. 6 months after initial contact). The calls check in, ensure that people living with dementia are supported, connected and enabled.
- You will use an exciting new IT system; full training and support will be provided
- You will provide information, make referrals, signpost and enable people to access the support they need in a way that's right for them
- Provide time limited one to one intervention and support via telephone
- Provide a friendly voice, support and encouragement via telephone
- Provide safe and enjoyable phone calls via an IT system for a person living with dementia

- Are passionate about supporting people with dementia to improve the quality of their lives

- If you've ever been described as 'chatty' and/or a good listener. If you have good verbal comunication and listening skills, especially on the phone
- If you are a perceptive, emotionally intelligent person; able to read tone of voice and empathise
Where, when and how often?
We expect KIT volunteers to offer at least around 3 hours per month
What do I have to do before I can start?
- You will need to complete the paperwork and checks associated with the volunteer recruitment process e.g. references, become a Dementia Friend (online process approx 20 mins)
- Participate in agreed training and development within 6 weeks to undertake the role and get an understanding of dementia (5 hours)
