Volunteer Fund Raising Co-ordinator
Bangor Foodbank and Community Support

What you will be doing:
- support the food bank manager with the development and delivery of our fundraising plan and policies
- help draft funding applications to a wide range of funding partners including The Big Lottery, Trussell Trust, the local council and others
- research and seek new funding opportunities
- ensure that data required to support applications is maintained and that any requirements from funding partners is met
- develop a network of contacts throughout local businesses and other community organisations to encourage financial support
- attend regular meetings with the food bank manager to plan our fundraising activity.
The skills you need:
- experience and understanding of funding applications
- ability to think creatively with accuracy and good attention to detail
- ability to provide information in plain English
- ability to operate in a professional manner when communicating with partners and maintain professional boundaries
- understand the need for confidentiality, safeguarding, and data protection and the ability to volunteer within our policies and guidelines
- ability to get on with others and be part of a team, as well as being motivated to complete tasks independently
- confident level of computer literacy.

Support and personal development
This role requires a minimum commitment of 12 months and a willingness to attend relevant fundraising training as part of your induction and ongoing support and development. Training for this role will vary depending on your experience.
You will also have a main contact at the food bank. We are happy to arrange a taster session for you to meet other volunteers and to find out more about the role and the food bank. We will also buddy you up with another volunteer during your first few weeks.
This role can be done from home; however, you will be required to spend some time in the food bank to understand how the food bank operates and to engage with other volunteers and our staff. You may also be required to meet with funding partners to better understand their needs and to discuss funding applications.
