Volunteer Drop In Workers Hours per week: 8.00 The role of Volunteer Drop In Worker will be to deliver and lead on CORE for members of Focus. This will include working directly with children and young people. ABOUT US At CORE, we believe that everyone deserves a safe and welcoming space to connect with others. Join us for a variety of activities and resources that promote wellness and community building. Over the past two years we have developed our shared space. Core was established to provide opportunities for young people in Antrim, including those who are most disadvantaged , with the long term aim of making a positive difference to their lives . These facilities are able to offer a wide range of activities and services free of charge for young people

Volunteer Drop In Workers

Hours per week: 8.00

 

The role of Volunteer Drop In Worker will be to deliver and lead on CORE for members of Focus. This will include working directly with children and young people . 

Hours of Work:8

 

Essential Criteria:

At least 1 years experience in leading a session for children or young people

At least 1 years experience working with group of children in school or youth placement.

Age 18 years old plus.

 

Desirable Criteria:

 

OCN Level 3 in Youth work or equivalent OR

NVQ Level 3 in Child Development or equivalent

Safeguarding training gained within the last 3 years

First Aid trained

Knowledge of Data Protection

Good communication skills

Good time management skills

Good administration skills

Have a fun and engaging attitude

Work as part of busy team and be a team player

Be able to manage challenging behaviours should they arise

 

Main purpose of Job:

The role of the Volunteer Drop In Worker will be to deliver and lead on CORE for members of Focus. This will include working directly with children and young people.

 

As part of this role you will

  • Develop weekly activities for 2 daily sessions on a weekly basis.
  • Develop a programme of activities (age specific) that will support children and young people.
  • ensure ratio is provided at the correct level for the children and young people involved.
  • Liaise and communicate with parents confidentially when needed
  • Adhere to Focus policies
  • To provide accurate monitoring information for funders
  • Set up, spot clean and clear down at the end of the day with support from other staff or volunteers.
