Springhill Community House (SCH) are seeking to recruit a bank of sessional complementary therapists and Tutors to deliver programmes with victims and survivors of the conflict.

The key element is to deliver complementary therapies to vulnerable

individuals who have been directly affected by the troubles/conflict in the community house.

 

Key Roles and responsibilities:

Deliver Complementary Therapies in a confidential setting providing therapeutic holistic support for members who have experienced trauma and or are coping with poor mental health.

Manage Complementary Therapies administration associated with the delivery

of this support (templates will be provided by SCH) including MYMOP

evaluation tools.

3. Refer members to other services within the organisation and to other service providers.

4. Engage in training as and when required by Springhill Community House.

 

Interested therapists, are self-employed, are responsible for their own tax and National Insurance contributions and must be able to provide evidence of the following:

 

  1. Professional indemnity insurance to a minimum of £5 million.
  2. Membership of a relevant professional organisation e.g., MFHT.
  3. Proof of their qualifications to deliver a range of complementary therapies e.g., Massage, Indian Head Massage, Aromatherapy Massage, and Reflexology. 
  4. Minimum of one-year experience working in a community setting.
  5. It is desirable that the therapist has experience of working with individuals who have been directly affected by the NI conflict/troubles.
  6. It is desirable that the therapist has experience of working with individuals impacted by trauma. 
  7. Applicants must be able to demonstrate value for money, being able to deliver the service, inclusive of all costs, at a maximum of £30.00 per complementary therapy session. 

 

If selected to work with Springhill Community House, therapists will be required to attain an enhanced Access NI Disclosure Certificate and make the Disclosure Certificate available to Springhill Community House.

 

Tutors/Facilitators

Tutors/Facilitators sought: Yoga, Local History, Women in History, Arts & Crafts including sewing, Digital Photography, Horticulture, Information Technology, Life Coaching, Mindfulness. Tutors of Therapies including Aromatherapy, Reflexology, Indian Head Massage, Swedish Massage, Flower Essence & Thermal Auricular Therapy.

 Role and responsibilities:

  1. To deliver a series of structured sessions/lessons in one of the above as directed by the organisation.
  2. Support and encourage learners at all times
  3. Manage administration in accordance with requirements pertaining to roles and responsibilities.

 Essential Criteria

  1. Possession of relevant teaching qualification were applicable
  2. Demonstrable experience in area of expertise (where no formal qualification is evident)
  3. Minimum of 1 year experience working within a community setting .
  4. Therapy Tutors must be VTCT registered assessors and be able to carry of Internal Verifications.

Applicants who provide evidence of meeting the above criteria will be invited onto our Therapist/Tutor bank, this does not however guarantee that services will be utilised.
