Support Worker (Nights)
Morning Star House
Morning Star House is a 39 bed homeless hostel in Belfast which supports single male homeless individuals aged 18+ who suffer from a range of issues including alcohol and substance misuse. Owned by the Morning Star Praesidium of the Legion of Mary, the service is funded by the NIHE Supporting People programme to provide support to clients. We do this through our active commitment to ensure that clients are fully involved in all decisions surrounding their support. The service is staffed 24 hours per day, 365 days a year and we have onsite support workers as well as resettlement support to promote clients working towards independent rehousing in the community.
MSH and hostel management appreciate that meeting the short term/interim tenancy complex needs of what is a mainly young complex male single homeless populous is changing and challenging, particularly with the additional complexities of an urban environment challenged with anti-social behaviours. Our commitment to meeting this challenge is systematic, aiming to meet the individual, community and wider societal needs through early intervention and prevention methods, to include ease of access into short term tenancies through our proactive and responsive approach.
