Parkinson's UK support groups offer friendship, information, activities and support to local people affected by the condition and our Belfast group is looking for a new member of the volunteer team to take the lead in planning the monthly meetings.
This is a very satisfying and rewarding role as you get to see the difference your volunteering makes to the people of your local community. You will be volunteering alongside like minded people and it is a very sociable and friendly team.
In the role of Support Group Co-Ordinator you would be responsible for-
-scheduling 4 volunteer team meetings per year - leading discussion on plans for the group and ensuring tasks are allocated equitably amongst the team.
-attending group meetings, once per month, on 2nd Wednesday of the month. The group currently meet between 2pm and 4pm at St John's Church Hall, Castlereagh Road, Belfast.
-liaising with the group finance contact to ensure any plans for the group are within budget.
-connecting with other support groups and Parkinson's UK staff as the main contact for the group.
If you are outgoing, organised and reliable - with 2-3 hours per week to spare - and comfortable using email and accessing the internet, we would love to hear from you.
