Specialist Senior Support Worker

Key Responsibilities 

Providing Person Centered Support. 

Supporting people to be safe and healthy. 

Supporting independence, social and communication skills.  

Coaching, mentoring and supervision of staff and volunteers.

Training and Development

Essential Criteria 

To apply for this role, you MUST have:   

1. One of the following:    

1. 4 years’ experience in a health or social care setting or QCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care.  

3. Psychology Degree AND have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a health and social care setting. or   

4. Psychology master’s degree AND have a minimum of 2 years' experience in a health and social care setting. or   

5. A professional social work qualification.   

2. At least 2 years’ experience of working with people with a learning disability OR autism. 

3. At least 2 years’ experience in managing behaviours of concern through the implementation of Positive Behaviour Support. 

4. Previous experience providing input to developing and implementing person centred support plans (Care Plans).  

5. Full driving licence or an ability to travel independently to meet the requirements of the post. 

6. Be registered, or be eligible for registration on appointment, on the appropriate part of the Northern Ireland Social Care Council (NISCC) or other relevant professional body.
