Kickstart Social Supermarket, operating under LCC Community Trust in Lisburn, is an innovative initiative designed to support individuals and families facing food poverty. Since its inception in January 2018, Kickstart has assisted over 600 families in Northern Ireland by providing access to affordable food and comprehensive support services.

The program offers members the opportunity to purchase heavily discounted food and fresh produce for a nominal weekly fee, allowing them to choose items that suit their preferences while alleviating financial pressure. Beyond food and financial assistance, Kickstart provides one-on-one mentoring, group classes, and workshops aimed at enhancing budgeting, cooking, and parenting skills. Additionally, benefits advice is available to offer guidance on financial entitlements.

Clients can access Kickstart's services through referrals from one of their 80 partner agencies or by self-referring via phone. Following an initial needs assessment, a personalised goal plan is developed to address each client's unique circumstances. The supermarket operates on Thursdays and Fridays by appointment, while the main center is open Monday to Friday from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm.

The right person will have a strong desire to help people as well as experience in successfully delivering a project and overseeing team members.
