Shop Volunteer

What we need?

We are looking for reliable volunteers to work both behind the scenes and on the shop floor.  You may be a student looking for retail experience, or wanting to change the direction of your career. You may be retired or just looking to give something back to the community. We would love to hear from you.

No specific skills are needed for this Shop Volunteer role, but the following would be helpful:

• A commitment to Women’s Aid ABCLN and an understanding of our work (full training will be provided)
• An interest in retail
• Willingness to learn
• An interest in retail and customer service
• Ability to work as part of a team and/or on your own at times

Your role will include:

• Receiving and sorting donations
• Steaming and pricing donations
• Arranging shop displays
• Providing customer service on the shop floor

About Women’s Aid ABCLN

• Women’s Aid ABCLN provides confidential support, information and emergency accommodation for women and children affected by domestic abuse across Antrim, Ballymena, Carrickfergus, Larne and Newtownabbey.

• We offer one to one support, practical assistance and group work for women in the community.

• We provide specialised services and support for children and young people affected by domestic abuse.

• We believe that no-one should have to live in fear or threat from abuse.

• Knowing that help is available, that there is a way out of the domestic abuse they have experienced enables women to transform their lives.

• Through early intervention and preventative work, we challenge attitudes and beliefs which lead to male violence against women.

• Together we are working to end domestic abuse.
