Based in South Belfast, delivering projects across Greater Belfast

Are you passionate about the environment and making a positive impact in local communities? Do you thrive on engaging and supporting people from all backgrounds to take part in meaningful conservation projects?

The Conservation Volunteers (TCV) is looking for a Senior Project Officer to join our welcoming and inclusive team in South Belfast. This is an exciting opportunity to manage and deliver a diverse range of conservation and community engagement projects across the city and beyond.

In this role, you will develop and lead projects that bring communities together, improving local green spaces and promoting well-being through nature-based activities. A significant focus will be on delivering TCV's Green Gym approach, which connects people with nature to improve physical and mental well-being. Project locations may include community gardens, allotments, shared green spaces, healthcare settings, schools, and community hubs. You will support and empower volunteers, ensuring an inclusive and accessible experience for everyone, including those who may face additional barriers to participation. Identifying new opportunities for community-led projects and securing funding to support them will also be a key part of your work.

Applicants should have experience in environmental conservation and community engagement, with particular expertise in food growing and horticulture in community settings. The ability to share knowledge and educate and upskill community volunteers is essential, as are strong record-keeping skills. Experience in evaluating projects is desirable, as is an understanding of community development models and the charity/NGO sector.

This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a friendly, supportive team and play a key role in delivering projects that make a lasting difference to both people and the environment.
