Aspire Schools and Youth Engagement Worker

As the Aspire Schools and Youth Engagement Worker, you will play a crucial role in supporting low-income students at Brownlow Integrated College, working with them throughout the school day. In addition, you will coordinate after-school sessions at two other local schools. This is a youth work-focused role where building meaningful, trusting relationships with young people is at the heart of everything you do. You’ll provide educational support, pastoral care, and life skills development, empowering students to thrive both academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating and running Aspire’s after-school homework sessions five days a week at Brownlow Integrated College and two other schools.
  • Facilitating Prince’s Trust classes, empowering students with practical skills and confidence for the future.
  • Delivering literacy and numeracy support sessions, helping students build essential academic skills.
  • Offering additional pastoral care and emotional support, creating a safe and encouraging space for students.
  • Building positive, supportive relationships with students, staff, and the community to ensure the effectiveness of Aspire’s programmes.
  • Collaborating with school staff to evaluate and improve Aspire’s impact on students’ lives.

At Aspire, we are driven by a belief in the potential of every young person, guided by Christian values of love, care, and community. Our mission is to close the educational attainment gap, providing students with the support they need to succeed, with a focus on building relationships that last.

Aspire has been serving the Craigavon area for the past eight years, with new opportunities continuing to develop across Northern Ireland. We are passionate about making a lasting difference in the lives of young people and are looking for someone who shares this vision and is committed to relationship-driven youth work
