Project Coordinator of Burnfoot Community Centre

Summary of main responsibilities: • This is a customer facing role and the coordinator will work alongside and support the volunteers. • To liaise with the Burnfoot Community Network staff, people and organisations within the local community network, Council staff within CCGBC and other stakeholders connected with the projects being delivered. • To promote the community centre at Burnfoot to encourage the use of its facilities and work towards long term sustainability. • To work with all groups connected to Burnfoot and implement a varied and ongoing programme of engagement. • Identify funding opportunities for the various groups using the facilities such as youth groups, senior citizens and men’s groups. Write and submit the relevant applications to secure funding for all groups using the community hub. • To undertake all aspects of the office which would include answers emails, phones, cash handling and liaising with all visitors to the premises • To oversee the groups using the premises and be their point of contact

Specific Duties

Project Coordination

  1. To continue to identify the needs of everyone and all groups using the premises
  2. To develop networking opportunities between all groups and other voluntary and community organisations and encourage new users
  3. Encourage interagency working between the employees, the volunteers, the CCGBC, the current service users and any other group involved in any aspect of the Burnfoot community hub

Project Administration

  1. Fulfill all aspects of office administration and correspondence
  2. To maintain and update the database of all service users and enquiries of the Community hub.
  3. Liaise with the National Lottery Community Fund and provide reports and information as required.
  4. Use social media along with other communication channels to promote activity within the community hub and provide information on the work of the Hub within the community.
  5. To write up reports on the various events and festivals taking place within the community Hub
  6. Ensuring all data is processed in compliance with GDPR guidelines

Other Duties

  1. To undertake such other reasonable duties as the activities within the Burnfoot Community Association may, from time to time, require.
  2. To contribute to the promotion of the Burnfoot Community Association.

Person Specification

Job title:   Project Coordinator

Experience and Qualifications

Essential:

  1. Relevant 3rd level qualification and 1 year relevant experience or a minimum of 3 years’ working in the community or voluntary sector
  2. 1 years’ Project Management experience working within the community development / voluntary sector.
  3. Previous experience of identifying development needs and providing support to community based organisations.
  4. Experience of working with key agencies associated with the Burnfoot Community Association including National Lottery Community Fund, Local Council, Funding Bodies.
  5. At minimum of one year’s working experience updating and maintaining a database to record programme activity and produce reports.
  6. Proficient in the use of desktop applications such as Microsoft office and internet and email.

Desirable:

  1. Minimum of one year’s experience using websites, social media and other forms of communication for project promotion.
  2. Experience of working with the Big lottery and / or other funding organisations.
  3. Degree level qualification (or equivalent)

  3. Proven ability to build and develop excellent working relationships with individuals and organisations.

  5. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  6. Ability to successfully prioritise work without compromising quality

      7. An interest and understanding of the voluntary and community sector in Northern Ireland.

Other requirements

 

Essential:                          

  1. Ability to work occasionally during evenings and weekends.
