As Programme Development Officer, you will primarily work on the Wee Group Peer Support Project, which is led by the Health Living Centre Alliance and Northern Area Community Network. This is a part time role for 16 hours per week for 2 years.

The Mental Health Foundation is recruiting for a Programme Development Officer.

Deadline: 5pm on Monday 11th November

Location: Belfast (hybrid)

Salary: Starting at £31,350, rising to £35,381 pro rata to 0.5 full-time equivalent

Hours: 16 hrs (subject to continuation of 32hr week pilot)

Contract type: Fixed term for two years (starting January 2025)

 As Programme Development Officer, you will primarily work on the Wee Group Peer Support Project, which is led by the Health Living Centre Alliance and Northern Area Community Network, which we are partners in. You will work with Healthy Living Centres across NI to develop and deliver training to support the centres in setting up Peer Support Groups for people with long-term health conditions.

 What does the role involve?

  • Undertake a training needs analysis for the Centre staff responsible for delivering peer support groups for people with long-term health conditions.
  • Draw on existing Foundation knowledge and experience and work with the Healthy Living Centre Alliance to develop and deliver training and support on setting up and running peer support groups for people with long-term physical health conditions.
  • Plan and deliver the project's training and capacity-building elements, working in partnership with the Project Coordinator and the Steering group

What skills, knowledge and experience are we looking for?

  • Proven ability to develop and deliver capacity-building training to community organisations
  • Experience of working with people with long-term health conditions and/or organisations who support people with long-term health conditions.
  • Experience of developing and delivering training.

We are currently operating mostly digital recruitment (including interviews via video conferencing).  We have moved to a hybrid working model of a minimum of 2 days per week in the office and the rest working from home
