To assist the Shop Manager in the effective management of the shop under standards set by the Development manager .

MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY: 

Would you like a job which helps transform the lives of vulnerable kids? Hope365 is a progressive Christian charity which rescues and reunites Street kids in Ethiopia. This part time post provides the opportunity of becoming part of the Hope365 team as a Sales Assistant in our Larne shop. The post requires commitment to the objectives of Hope365.

The Sales Assistant is responsible for assisting the Shop Manager in supporting them in the  Store, maintaining standards and achieving sales through effective sales techniques and contributing to the sustainable profitability of the shop.

MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Provide excellent customer service at all times.
  • Support the shop retail manager
  • Process all sales politely, efficiently and accurately.
  • Till and credit card reader operation.
  • Ensure adherence to store opening hours.
  • Price and merchandise stock and products correctly.
  • Assist with adequate levels of stock and stock rotation.
  • Assist with furniture stock on display.
  • Assist with all displays, presentation and promotions.
  • Follow Hope365 procedures and security systems for the protection of staff, stock and cash.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping, organisation and cleanliness throughout the store.

Other Requirements

  • Hold the store keys, ensuring that the store is secure whenever it is left unattended.
  • Due to the requirement of furniture stock rotation, an ability to manoeuvre pieces of furniture may be necessary; manual handling training will be provided.

Essential Criteria

The job holder must have the following:

1. Holds Maths and English GCSE (or equivalent) at Grade C or above.

2. Proven experience in stock control.

3. Proven experience in customer service delivery.

4. Flexible ‘can do’ attitude, the ability to adapt to change and interact with people.

 

Desirable Criteria

1. Experience working in retail within the charity sector.
