Malawi Liaison & Grant Compliance Officer

This pivotal role will support COTN's mission by facilitating communication with the senior leadership of COTN Malawi. This position oversees grant compliance, programme evaluation, and develops impactful engagement with supporting partners.

Specific responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary liaison between COTN International Executive Team, Malawi Country Director, and National Board.
  • Oversee compliance with grant requirements and facilitate resolution of any issues.
  • Support strategic and annual operational planning processes, including budgets and project proposals.
  • Facilitate programme evaluation and Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) procedures.
  • Develop and maintain strong partnerships to mobilise resources and raise awareness of COTN Malawi.
  • Analyse budget performance and financial reports to ensure grant compliance.
  • Represent COTN Malawi at meetings, strategic planning sessions, and partner engagements.
  • Collaborate with the UK & Ireland team on fundraising, events, marketing, and volunteer management.
  • Travel to Malawi as required to build relationships, conduct training, and support programme development.
     

Person specification:

Essential:

  • A personal faith in Jesus and alignment with COTN’s vision and mission.
  • Third-level qualification in a relevant field.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in organisational leadership, strategic planning, project management, or programme development.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to multi-task and work independently.
  • Experience with financial reporting and interpreting budgets.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Willingness to travel internationally and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

Desirable:

  • Experience of overseas ministry or work in developing countries.
  • Knowledge of issues affecting children in Malawi.
  • Fundraising and public speaking experience.
  • Bookkeeping skills and experience with monitoring and evaluation.
  • Full driving licence with access to a car.
