TinyLife are Northern Ireland’s only dedicated premature baby charity here to help provide support services both in the Neonatal Unit and in the community .

 

Our Mission is that a premature or sick baby who starts life in a neonatal unit in Northern Ireland has the best start to life and is supported to reach their full potential.

 

To achieve this we will support, advocate and champion for their rights to receive the best support in the right place and at the right time for them, from birth to preschool. We achieve this by empowering families, collaborative working and influencing practice and policy.

 

We are seeking a Head of Operations to join our team. This is an exciting and diverse role which provides plenty of opportunity for growth and development.

 

Remuneration: Part time 30 hours per week / NJC Scale 35-39 (£43,431 - £47,420 pro rata)

Hours of Work: 30 hours per week

Job Type:  Permanent,

 

The Role: The Head of Operations will be a member of the Senior Management Team and will contribute to strategic leadership and manage all Family Support Services to ensure service delivery excellence throughout Northern Ireland.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Contribute to the Strategic Direction in line with the mission, aims and values.
  2. Ensure effective operational delivery and development of our service to deliver KPIs in line with quality standards and legislative compliance
  3. Ensure effective leadership and people management
  4. Ensure regular reporting including against KPIs
  5. Research, Continuous Improvement and Development to meet current and future needs
  6. Ensure effective financial management and use of resources
  7. Manage Risk, H&S, Quality and Compliance

 

The post holder will need:

  • Third level education in a relevant qualification; Professional Health/Social Care Qualification/ Business related

or

  • 3 years relevant experience of leading, managing/supervising a team to deliver outcomes.

AND

  • At least 2 years relevant experience (breadth and depth) working at management level in the voluntary, statutory or private sector (as defined by the criteria below).
  1. Experience of successful managing people to deliver against KPIs /operational outcomes.
  2. Demonstrated experience of delivering quality improvement and/or change programme initiatives.
  3. Experience of managing the budget of a department or project.
  4. Demonstrated ability to access and secure funding / negotiate contracts.
  5. Understanding of the key issues affecting the voluntary sector and social care field.
  6. Effective use of IT.

AND

  • A full current driving licence and/or access to a form of transport which will enable the post holder to carry out all duties;

AND

  • All candidates must be able to provide evidence of their eligibility to work in the UK.
