Job Title: Foodbank & Volunteer Co-ordinator, Lisburn Foodbank & LCC Community Trust MATERNITY COVER

Responsible to: Financial Inclusion Manager

Hours: 24-28 hours per week (between 9am-4pm; Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, incl. occasional weekend and evening work (approx. once per month)

Salary: £27,000pa pro rata & pension  

Contract : Maternity Cover starting late November 2024 – March 2026   

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Day to day management of Lisburn Foodbank to include co-ordination with charity partners, referral agencies and donors. Overseeing client vouchers and food parcel distribution and recruitment, management & training of volunteers within Lisburn Foodbank.

 

Foodbank daily tasks :

  • Respond to all enquiries regarding foodbank via phone, email or walk in
  • Oversee data capture system (DCS) to be aware of referrals likely to attend each day
  • Manage and coordinate client referrals with empathy and compassion
  • Coordinate donations, deliveries and volunteers
  • Assist in the overall development of LCC Community Trust, LCC and the Foodbank into the local community.

 

Administration :

  • Keep up to date on all Trussell correspondence and share information with the wider team
  • Collect and collate statistics from LCC Community Trust and Lisburn foodbank to inform and promote the work within the local community.
  • Collaborate with other Trussell foodbanks and local partners in sharing best practice on policies and procedures.
  • Update quarterly newsletters for donors, volunteers & partner agencies

Engage Volunteers

  • Ensure we have appropriate cover for volunteers on each shift
  • Identify training needs of volunteers to work effectively and cooperatively with volunteers skills
  • Ensure that volunteers are given appropriate training to be successful in their positions
  • Ensure that volunteer check-in procedures are followed and records of volunteer hours are maintained according to established procedures
  • Ensure that volunteers receive the appropriate level of supervision
  • Assist with conflict resolution among clients, staff and volunteers according to established procedures

 

Marketing

  • Oversee and respond to enquiries from businesses, churches and other organisations.
  • Operate suitable posts on social media and promote work with local media outlets alongside communications officer.
  • Brief enquirers about the Foodbank & LCC Community Trust and role of the Lisburn Foodbank.

 

Fundraising

  • Help fundraise to sustain the work of Lisburn Foodbank.
  • Undertake regular talks to raise project awareness and funding.

 

Planning & Reporting

  • Report weekly/monthly/quarterly statistics to the CEO & Board of Trustees of Lisburn Foodbank.
