Farming for the Generations Support Officers (three posts available)

Reporting to the Farming for the Generations Programme Manager, this individual will play an integral role in the delivery of the Farming for the Generations Programme.

Farming for the Generations is a eighteen month pilot project which shall focus on succession planning, establishing a plan for farm succession whilst also ensuring the protection of both the farm business and farm family.  The role-holder is responsible for supporting the Programme Manager in the delivery of the pilot to ensure that they deliver the highest quality services to those they work with on a collaborative basis and for the participants.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Provide clerical and administrative support to the Programme Manager in all areas of set-up, delivery, reporting, and evaluation.
  • Fulfil clerical and administrative duties as required.
  • Assist in event organisation.
  • Complete evaluation or reporting duties.
  • Assist in the promotion planning and activities of the Farming for the Generations programme.
  • Deputising for the Farming for the Generations Programme Manager when required.
  • Support mentors who are involved with the Farming for the Generations  programme including where relevant paperwork and reporting.

Promotion and Administration

  • Provide regular quantitative and qualitative reports.
  • Build and develop good working relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Represent Rural Support at workshops/events and in relevant stakeholder forums where required.
  • Develop and maintain appropriate record keeping systems in compliance with all statutory requirements and statutory obligations.
  • Ensure timely updates and reports to the Programme Manager for Board and other meetings.

Other Responsibilities

  • Provide support in relation to activities that require in the input of all Rural Support staff.
  • Maintain own professional standards and commit to professional self-development as necessary for successful delivery of the post.
  • Undertake such other duties as may be reasonably required, consistent with the nature and grade of the post.

Expectations of Role

  • Believe in the value of social innovation and support its development by Rural Support.
  • Plan own day-to-day activity with direction from the Programme Manager on priority areas.
  • Act as a team player within Rural Support including assisting in team activities when needed in support of the organisation’s goals.
