Facilities Caretaker
Ballymagroarty Hazelbank Community Partnership

Purpose:
To undertake duties and responsibilities as the Facilities Caretaker, undertaking to open and close the Pitch. To monitor the use of the park and associated facilities. To undertake the general health and safety check within the Pitch throughout opening hours and to liaise with Ballymagroarty Hazelbank Community Partnership and Derry City and Strabane District Council.
Key Responsibilities:
- Jointly with others, maintain the up keep of the Pitch and associated facilities
- To act as a main point of contact whilst on duty for visitors to the Pitch
- To monitor the behaviour of Pitch Visitors and as necessary to report incidences to Ballymagroarty Hazelbank Community Partnership
- Undertake regular inspection and cleaning of the Pitch, to ensure safe usage of Pitch
- Where appropriate, take the necessary steps to report any misuse and anti community behaviour to Ballymagroarty Hazelbank Community Partnership
- At the beginning of each day, open and prepare the Pitch for use by visitors.
- At the end of each day, or once users have finished using the Pitch facilities, clean and secure the facilities
- Undertake regular spot checks of the Pitch, to ensure that the Pitch and the associated facilities are free from potential dangers.
- From time to time the Council or other organisations may avail of the Pitch. On such occasions the Facilities Caretaker will be required to assist in preparing the facility for use.
- On occasions when events are held in the Pitch and /or associated facilities, to be on duty to ensure that the facilities are kept clean and well maintained.
- Adhere to the Health and Safety Policy and Procedures, as laid down by the Ballymagroarty Hazelbank Community Partnership.

- No Formal qualifications are required
Essential Skills and Abilities:
- Customer Care Skills and Experience
- Good Communication Skills
- Practical Experience of General Maintenance
- Good Organisational Skill
- Ability to use initiative whilst working unsupervised
- Ability to work as part of a team
- A flexible and versatile approach to work (The majority of the work will be nights and weekends, with a minimum of hours during the day).
- Knowledge of Health & Safety requirement and responsibilities
- Willingness to work unsociable hours
