DV Support Worker (with Child Worker responsibilities) – Ref: SWCW03/25

Here at Belfast & Lisburn Women’s Aid we’re looking for passionate, like-minded individuals to join our team and are seeking to recruit for DV Support Workers (with Child Worker responsibilities).

The successful candidates will provide emotional and practical support for women and their children who are experiencing or have experienced domestic violence. This includes working with women and children living in refuge, moving on from refuge, and living in the community.  Work with children in refuge will include organising activities for groups of children in a playroom setting whilst also providing relevant and tailored support to individual children.

Two permanent positions are available – one in North Belfast (Full-time) and one in Lisburn (Part-time). Applicants should specify on the application form which location they are applying for. Salary is £26,409 per annum (pro-rata for part-time).

We provide a range of support and accommodation services for women and children experiencing domestic abuse. Due to the level of contact with vulnerable women and children, the lawful recruitment of females for these posts falls within the exemption stated in Article 10 (2b&e) of the Sex Discrimination (NI) Order 1976.
