Job Title: Digital Skills Tutor (Skills for Life and Work)
Location: 182-188 Cambrai Street, Belfast, BT13 3JH
Responsible To: SFLW Operations Manager
Objective: To ensure all learners reach their potential and achieve their learning targets and qualifications. Ensure professional planning and preparation of schemes of work and lesson plans to maximise learning and retention and qualification attainment.
Hours: 35 hours per week
Contract: Permanent
Job Description:
- To be responsible for the design and delivery of Digital Skills & IT related training and assessments
- Design schemes of work and lesson plans
- Facilitate and manage the delivery of Essential Skills Digital Skills & IT User to SFLW learners
- Complete and maintain individual Personal Learning Plans
- Review learners progress monthly
- Maintain effective information management, administrative and reporting systems, ensuring all quality processes are followed
- Manage own time to meet monitoring and evaluation procedures
- Support learners whilst they are participating on the programme and identify barriers to learning
- Ensure Health & Safety of participants is paramount
- Manage system updates and resources required for the delivery of the programme
- Ensure learners achieve outcomes recorded on their Personal Training Plans
- Be aware of, and adhere to Usel’s Policies and Procedures
- To perform such other tasks deemed necessary by management, to ensure the effective delivery of the programme.
- Work with local employers to secure placements for learners
Person Specification:
Essential:
- 5 GCSEs or equivalent including Maths and English.
- Hold, be working towards or happy to work towards a recognised teaching qualification, i.e., Certificate in Teaching (UUJ)
- A minimum of a Level 3 qualification in ICT/Digital Skills
- A degree obtained at a university in the UK or the Republic of Ireland, of which ICT forms a minimum of 50% of the subject studied, or a degree obtained at any other university, provided the Department accepts the standard and content of that degree as equivalent to those stated above.
- Experience delivering ICT/Digital Skills or Essential Skills training
- Ability to engage with and motivate learners to learn to their full capability.
Desirable:
- Experience of Quality assurance and Internal Verification of Digital Skills/ICT qualifications.
- Experience of working with individuals who have a disability, health condition or special educational need
