About the Role

Mourne SureStart is seeking a Leader for its Programme for 2-Year-Olds, working within a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, evidence-based early childhood services for children and families.

The Leader will play a vital role in the overall safety and well-being of the children and the development of the programme, working in partnership with families to promote positive parenting and support parents as β€˜first educators’. The role involves taking a leadership position in managing staff, engaging families, and ensuring high standards of service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Promote the Mourne SureStart project and increase membership and engagement
  • Lead and supervise staff, including conducting annual appraisals and meetings
  • Engage with families to share and discuss children’s learning outcomes
  • Promote parent-child interaction and foster positive parenting
  • Work in partnership with parents to support their involvement in children’s learning
  • Ensure high-quality service delivery by adhering to advice from the programme Support Specialist
  • Liaise with staff and external agencies to support child and family health and well-being
  • Follow child protection guidelines and ensure confidentiality at all times
  • Maintain accurate client records and perform administrative duties
  • Attend meetings, training, and seminars as required

Who We're Looking For

  • Experience in early childhood education or childcare, with leadership experience
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with families and external agencies
  • Knowledge of child protection guidelines and confidentiality standards

πŸ“Œ Pre-employment checks, including an Access NI check, health declaration and Fit persons interview with the Early Years team will be required.
