We are currently recruiting for a Cook / Chef. The contract is expected to start in July 2024 initially for 10 months but with the opportunity to be extended. Reporting to the Head Chef you will provide all catering requirements in SAHS and be responsible for ensuring that all standards of cooking are maintained in line with current legislation and guidance. This role is responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting nutritious well-balanced meals to all patients, staff, visitors, and others.
Applicants must have NVQ Level 2 in Catering and Hospitality or equivalent and 1 year working at cooks’ level or 3 years’ experience at cook’s level. Experience preparing meals for people with special dietary requirements and a high awareness of allergens. Food Hygiene certificate Level 2 is also essential.
Having a positive work attitude, along with the ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential for the role. Previous experience in a healthcare setting would be an advantage, however full training will be provided.
The successful candidate will be required to undertake pre-employment checks before any appointment is made.
