Location:  Belfast Resource Centre, The Spires, 9 Upper Queen St, Belfast, BT1 6FB

Salary: Band 1 - £18,193 – £21,450 per annum pro rata  

Starting Salary: £10,915.80 (Point 1.0)

Type of contract: 22.5 hours per week

Duration: Permanent

Job Purpose:

• To improve the lives of people experiencing severe mental health difficulties.
• To ensure value is placed on the whole person and a strengths-based approach is used which promotes the maximum level of independence, choice and control.
• To encourage and support active participation of service users underpinned by the Recovery model.
• To support service users to be more self directing and more engaged with their local community

Qualifications, Experience and Knowledge required:

• Educated to GCSE level (grades A-C) to include Mathematics and English language (or equivalent)
• 6 months experience of providing support to people with a mental illness either in a paid or voluntary position OR able to demonstrate a minimum of 1 years experience of providing support in a paid or voluntary capacity in another care setting.
• Willing and able to be adaptable and flexible to meet the needs of the service users and to provide contingency cover for staff sickness and training within the BHSCT area
• Be registered with or eligible for registration with NISCC
