Job details:

  • Hours: 18 hours per week (flexibility to work evening and weekends required)
  • Salary: £12.68 per hour
  • Contract: Until 30th April 2027
  • Holidays: 12 statutory days (pro rata) 20 Annual days (pro rata).
  • Location: Ballyduff

Job Background

Bryson Energy in partnership with Ballyduff Community Redevelopment Group has been successful in obtaining funding from National Lottery Community Fund We will make the greatest difference to Ballyduff's greatest need by simultaneously developing local community leaders, individuals and families to maximise their potential. We will provide residents with much needed interventions and activities to improve education, employment, health, well-being and community cohesion.

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • The Community Family Worker will build, strengthen and sustain relationships within the community to support with identified issues
  • The worker will offer practical and emotional support to parents/carers within their own home, offering guidance, mentoring, role modelling and support.
  • Provide home visits, signposting and plan, develop and facilitate (or assist in the facilitation of) targeted group sessions.
  • Involved in the building of a educational programme for young people who are not reaching their full potential
  • Be involved in the planning and implementing of community action plans.
  • Work alongside the team to facilitate creches, parent & toddler programmes etc.
  • To meet identified targets for participating in the delivery of community led events, home visit sessions and group sessions
  • To measure outcomes of intervention as part of the wider team.
  • The Community Family Worker will take a community centered approach promoting the Bryson services to enable parents/carers, children and young people and individuals to achieve their full potential.

 

Essential Criteria:

 

  • NVQ Level 3  Childcare & Education or equivalent qualification
  • 5 GCSE’s at grade C and above including English Language
  • Knowledge and skills regarding community-based projects
  • Proficient in I.T – Microsoft packages
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate a sensitive approach to people in need
