Overall responsibility for Community Development within the Confederation of Community Groups (CCG) at a strategic level. Be responsible for formulation and implementation of CCG policy in relation to Community Development Projects.

The Confederation of Community Groups (CCG) is a sub-regional community development organisation based at its social enterprise in Ballybot House, Newry. It provides targeted services across the Newry, Mourne & Down area and supports the wider com/vol sector and local communities.

This permanent post will:

  • Have overall responsibility for Community Development within the CCG at a strategic level.
  • Be responsible for formulation and implementation of CCG policy in relation to Community Development Projects.
  • Enhance sustainability and development of local community infrastructure to ensure the continued growth of community development

Essential Criteria :

  • 3-yrs experience of working with community & voluntary organisations.
  • 3-yrs experience in Managing, planning, implementing and developing projects.

•  Third Level qualification

•  Demonstrates self-confidence

•  Sympathetic to the ethos of Community Development.

•  Initiative & Drive

• Copes well with complex demands

•  Ability to write/produce reports & other written materials.

•  Ability to collate & analyse information

•  Good verbal communication skills.

•  Extensive knowledge of community & voluntary sector in N.I.

•  Ability to plan time & projects

•   Knowledge of funding opportunities.
