Children & Youth Group Co-ordinator
Location: Helping Hands Autism Resource Centre, Dundonald
Reports to: Helping Hands Committee
Salary: Self Employed contact 12 hrs per week at £11.05 per hour - will be paid on receipt of a monthly invoice.
Successful candidate must submit an HRMC self employment registration number.
Month to Month rolling contract.
Essential Criteria:
OCN Level 3 in Youth work or equivalent OR NVQ Level 3 in Child Care or Child Development or equivalent.
& 2 years experience in a similar role.
Desirable Criteria:
Experience in dealing with children or young people with special needs
Autism Awareness Trained
Child protection trained (within last 3 years)
First Aid trained
Good communication skills
Good time management skills
Good administration skills
Main purpose of Job:
The role will be to support the development of our social group members within Helping Hands. This will include working directly with children and young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
As part of this role you will:
Develop weekly activities for 4 evening sessions and attend those sessions.
Co-ordinate weekly duties for registered volunteers.
Develop a programme of activities (age specific) that will support children and young people with ASD difficulties ie: Sensory activities, Life skills, Social communication, Anxiety etc.
Attend training programmes when necessary.
Liaise and communicate with parents of social group members
Adhere to Helping Hands policies and procedures.
To provide accurate monitoring information for funders
Provide a written monthly report to Helping Hands Committee at committee meetings.
Access ni check for Helping Hands will be required before spending time with our social group members.
