Dementia NI is a small member led charity, formed to drive and bring about positive change for people living with dementia.

The organisation has uniquely positioned as a member lead organisation that provides peer support to those living with dementia and shares their experience and journey with others should they wish.

It’s focus is on ensuring that people living with dementia are actively and meaningfully engaged in influencing policy and practice, as well as in all aspects of decision making at all levels within Dementia NI.

Salary:        £51,958 - £55,204  PO9 (depending on skills and experience).

Hours:        37.5 hours per week Monday – Friday 9am to 5pm

Additional hours will be required from time to time, including evenings and weekends on occasion, to meet the demands of the post 

The organisation recently underwent a strategic review followed by an organisational review. Currently, the organisational structure encompasses 6 roles. However, following the review the Board have set in motion the steps to build and grow the organisation in order to meet the strategic goals of Dementia NI.

This is an exciting new post for the organisation and the post-holder will have the opportunity to lead Dementia NI through an exciting period of transition and development, as well as informing the structure and direction of the organisation.

The post-holder will:

·       Act an external champion of the organisation to ensure people living with dementia are supported to influence Dementia policy and practice by building and maintaining extensive networks at a local and national level.

·       Ensure people living with dementia are actively engaged in all aspects of Dementia NI.

·       Support the Chair and Board of trustees to inform the strategic direction, delivery and review of the organisation including based on knowledge of landscape changes. 

·       Be responsible for the leadership, management and administration of the organisation and act as a positive leader and role model for employees, volunteers and members.

·       Ensure that the Board receives appropriate advice and information on all relevant matters to enable it to fulfil its governance responsibilities.

·       Be the lead on safeguarding best practice approaches within the organisation and externally.
