
Are you passionate about making a difference? Do you have a vision for positive change? Do you want to make an impact in communities, in rural areas of Northern Ireland and the border region? Rural Action is looking for dedicated and dynamic individuals to join its voluntary Board of Trustees.
Role and Responsibilities
As a Trustee, you will:
- Provide strategic direction and oversight to ensure the charity fulfils its mission and objectives
- Support the executive team to drive the charity’s performance and impact
- Act as an ambassador for Rural Action, promoting our values and work within the region
Who Are We Looking For:
- Up to 5 new Trustees to join our Board
- Two of the 5 positions are open to Board apprentices e.g. those who may not have served on a charitable board before who would like the opportunity to gain experience over a 12-month period with the option for extension to a 3-year term on completion of the voluntary apprenticeship
- Open to individuals living in Northern Ireland or Ireland preferably with a rural background/interest in rural development; community development; cross border working and peace building
What We’re Looking For:
- A commitment to the aims and values of Rural Action
- Individuals with diverse backgrounds and experience
- Experience or a background in any of the following: governance, finance, communications (marketing/PR), social economy, income generation, IT (data management; cyber security), sustainability and the practical application of climate change initiatives within communities
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- The ability to think strategically and work collaboratively
