This Befriender role entails meeting with and befriending people within a Library setting . The aim of the role is to meet and befriend members of the public who feel isolated or who are living with poor mental health. Job share will be considered

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  1. To attend the library and meet with those people who could benefit from Befriending.
  2. To spend 26 hours on average per week visiting various Libraries.
  3. To communicate effectively and sensitively with people on a one-to-one basis or in groups.
  4. To maintain absolute integrity and confidentiality in relation to personal issues raised by befriending service users
  5. To ensure administration systems are adhered to and records are produced as required
  6. To ensure the implementation of PIPS Charity policies.
  7. Participate in appropriate training as directed by the Careteam Manager.
  8. To adopt a proactive approach in promoting PIPS Charity and any activities relating to their programmes and services.
  9. To adopt a flexible approach to working hours of duty.
  10. To ensure all administration is carried out in a timely manner and report changes at all times.
  11. To undertake any other duties which may be reasonably requested.
  12. To undergo AccessNI check at enhanced level.
