Assistant Cook

Northdown Communityworks serve the community of Newtownards through a variety of initiative and projects. As part of our service, we offer meals for anyone in the community and run a drop-in lunch service from Tuesday to Friday every week.

We are looking for an enthusiastic assistant cook to join our team for a minimum of 25 hours per week. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• -    Assisting our head chef with the preparation and creation of meals to be served or distributed to the community.
• -    Stepping up to cover duties of the Head Chef whilst on holiday 
• -    Working effectively with volunteers and other staff. 
• -    Ensuring cleanliness of the kitchen and adherence to health and safety legislation.
• -    Monitoring stock and ensuring correct storage.

Desirable: Basic Food Hygiene Certificate 

The role is 9am – 2pm Monday to Friday each week with the potential for additional hours, when required. No weekend or evening work is required. You will be based at 45-47 South Street, Newtownards.
