Start360 is recruiting a Counsellor for the AD:EPT service on a full-time, permanent basis. This post will be split between HMP Maghaberry and Hydebank Wood College & Women's Prison, Belfast.

Salary: NJC Points 28 – 31 (£24,964 - £27,668) plus environmental allowance
Base: Split - HMP Maghaberry and Hydebank Wood College & Women's Prison, Belfast
Probation: You will serve a probationary period of six months. This may be extended if considered appropriate
Hours: Full-time (37 hours per week)
Contract: Permanent
Background to the Project
AD:EPT drug and alcohol service is a multi-component addictions project based in the three establishments of the Northern Ireland Prison Service. It aims to address the drug and alcohol issues of service users of all age groups through a variety of interventions including casework, group work and counselling.
Background to the Role
In consultation with the Service Delivery Manager and colleagues, the post-holder will be required to successfully deliver a range of services to enable service users to re-enter the wider community without recourse to drug and alcohol abuse and offending. They will be required to successfully implement the care plan of each individual service user who is participating in the programme, ensure good running of the programme, and contribute to its development.
Start360’s role profiles are based on recognised national occupational standards, which list the required competencies to perform a particular job. The competencies for this role have been taken from Drugs and Alcohol National Occupational Standard (DANOS), Custodial Care and Voluntary Sector Skills units.
