Co-operative Alternatives

This free event is on Wed the 11th October 2023 in Girdwood Community Hub, Belfast from 9.30 to 13.30. This year conference wants to celebrate the newest co-operatives in Northern Ireland and inspire a new generation of co-operators.
The conference aims are:
• To raise awareness and understanding of the co-operative model and its benefits for society and young people.
• To inspire and empower young people to become co-operators, leaders and change-makers in their communities and beyond.
• To showcase and celebrate the achievements and innovations of co-operatives involving young people and addressing issues important to them.
• To facilitate networking and collaboration among young co-operators and other stakeholders from different sectors and backgrounds.
• To identify and address the challenges and opportunities for co-operatives in the current and future context.
This event is sponsored by the Social Enterprise and Co-operative Business Support programme at the Belfast City Council.
We have an exciting programme with speakers from new co-ops and young co-operators testimonials, we will also have plenty of time to discuss and share your aspirations for a local co-operative movement fit for the next generation of co-operators.
