VOLT Session: Keeping Volunteers Safe Through a Pandemic

Volunteering has been at the heart of communities over the last few months as volunteers responded to the calls for help.  Whether it was shopping, collecting prescriptions or calling people on the phone to check on them, volunteers were on the frontline when it came to helping those who were vulnerable.

So what did you do to look after your volunteers’ physical, social or emotional wellbeing?  What were the key safeguarding messages that you needed to relate to volunteers – to keep themselves safe as well as the people they were helping?  What were the challenges with ensuring everyone’s safety?
