This course is 3hrs and suited to those who would like to gain first time knowledge of safeguarding children and adults. It is also suitable for those who wish to update their safeguarding knowledge.

Learning outcomes of the course:
•    Focus on the categories of abuse for both children and adults
•    Signs and indicators of abuse
•    Know what to do if there is a disclosure of abuse
•    Know what steps to take if you have any suspicions of abuse or allegations are made to you by a third-party including reporting procedures
•    Identify key legislation and guidance 
•    State the statutory procedure for dealing with allegations or concerns about abuse 

Due to the nature of the course, it is suggested that participants should be 18+ There is no assessment requirements for this course.  All participants will receive a certificate of attendance.

The course will be delivered by North West Volunteer Centre.
Cost: £15 per person (non-refundable) and needs to be paid in advance to secure your place.
