Public Money for Public Goods;-Benefits for farmers, rural communities and the environment.

Rural Community Network

Join Rural Community Network and RSPBNI at Lough Beg, to see some examples of what a public money for public goods payment could look like.
See how farmers in the area have been supported to deliver a range of benefits across the landscape, from flood protection, biodiversity restoration and carbon storage. Participants will hear how farmers have been rewarded for this work through Agri-environment, how it fits into their businesses and how other business opportunities have been created for rural communities through the improvement in the landscape.
We will meet at the Seamus Heaney Home Ground Centre in Bellaghy for an initial discussion and then travel on to the Lough Beg site.
Come prepared with wellies and waterproofs!
